The premise behind the Blue Heron Inn is simple – we want to help you reclaim your time!

And Findley Lake fits the bill perfectly. It’s uncanny how even first-time visitors sense the friendly, relaxed pace, reminiscent of simpler times. Just one mile south of I-86, we have the good fortune of being centrally located between Erie, PA and Jamestown, NY. In a world where most of us are simply too busy for long vacations in far-off, exotic locations (oh wish it wasn't so!) a night or two is all we can usually spare. The Blue Heron Inn is located in the heart of Findley Lake, which is less than one tank of gas from Buffalo, NY, Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The Blue Heron Inn isn't a typical bed & breakfast with Innkeepers who command & hover; we don’t have a lot of rules or regulations. When guests check in they receive a key to the front door which allows them to and go as they please. Many of our guests are couples looking to reconnect; quite often we’re told “we haven’t been away or alone together for quite some time”. Others are visiting family or friends (it’s a great mid-point location between the mid-west and northeast) and have pre-arranged plans for the entirety of their stay. We don’t schedule tea time or hold anyone hostage for the purpose of group story-telling or bird-watching. We arrange late check-ins as needed, set out continental breakfasts for early departures and accommodate special dietary needs with advanced notice. We’ll pre-arrange surprise packages, offer travel & dining suggestions and make reservations for our guests. We’ll respect a couple’s privacy when they obviously want to be alone, we’re happy to chat when a guest is interested & time allows. At the Blue Heron Inn it’s all about our guests.
